It is Perl 5 source code.  When executed, it prints the "99 Bottles of Beer" song.  Like this:

99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer!
Take one down, pass it around,
98 bottles of beer on the wall!

98 bottles of beer on the wall, 98 bottles of beer!
Take one down, pass it around,
97 bottles of beer on the wall!

97 bottles of beer on the wall, 97 bottles of beer!
Take one down, pass it around,
96 bottles of beer on the wall!

etc...


Pretty insane.
Who said Perl can be hard to read?

(Lots of implementations of the song generator in various languages are available; but none as cool as this one.)
